If your child is in 11th or 12th grade at Commack High School, at least 16 years old, and in good standing (all their academic requirements for their present school year are met), he/she is eligible to enroll. A spare pair of headphones from home can be used as long as it fits the standard audio jack. Confirmation Prep • In Grade 7 our students begin their two year preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. A Commitment Mass marking the formal beginning of the program has been scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 21st at the 11 A.M. Recently, they have reached out to us to help assist them in helping the Sisters who live in Puerto Rico.
The Sisters, like so many others in Puerto Rico, are cleaning up and waiting for the full restoration of power and communications. In order to help the Sisters, they have asked that we organize a cell phone collection for them. Who can take Driver ED? Any student 16 years and older with a valid permit. The program is open to all private and public school students. During our Fall and Spring Semester we will have two 8 week sessions that are given twice a week. Our Fall 2017 program will run from Nov 14 to Jan 16th and consist of 16 (3) hour sessions. The classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays. Future weekday and weekend classes are planned for spring and summer 2018.

In today's world one of the most dangerous things we do on a daily basis is driving. Let us give your child the skills needed in today's distracting world. You will be taught not only the rules of the road but how to avoid unnecessary distractions and accident avoidance techniques.
We will have guest speakers from the Sheriff's department, MADD, Sadd and more. 2.To receive your Senior License at 17 years of age As long as you are 17 and have completed a driver's ED course and passed your road test you will be able to drive on your own at age 17 or receive your junior license at 16. 3.To receive a discount on your insurance. Most insurance companies will accept a completed Drivers ED course for a discount on the students insurance from 10% to 25%.
All of our classroom teachers are State Certified instructors. We are associated with Defensive Driving School which is a DMV certified, fully insured driving school with over 40 years of driving instruction. They have taught Drivers ED at Hauppauge, Smithtown and various other High Schools in the past as well as the Lake Grove School and are presently driving for Bishop McCain High School in Riverhead. Ivy League Drivers ED will offer a number of different days and times for their program which should be able to fit into almost any busy student's calendar. All Classes are done in 3 hour blocks (1.5 hours of driving and 1.5 hours of lecture) over a period of 16 days for each semester.
We have 3 semesters: Fall, spring and summer with a variety of options. Our Fall semester, session 1 is from Sept to Nov and session 2 is from November to January (each is 8 weeks long twice a week). Our Spring semester, session 1 is from February to April and session 2 is from April to June each is 8 weeks long twice a week). We want your experience to be a positive one with our program and offer you the option to be in the same car as your friends.
As long as you sign up at the same time and there is still room in a car we will try to put you in with your friends. There is never a guarantee you will be in the same car but we make every effort to accommodate your requests. Please Note: Registration is on a first come first served basis. Please make sure the information entered when registering for your session must correspond with the learners permit exactly.
The information is used on your completion certificate (MV285) and must match or it will not be accepted when you take your road test. You may register before you have your permit but you must update your information once you have received it. You must be at least 16 years of age with a NYS permit to take this class. You must have your permit by the 2nd week of class (you will not be able to drive until you have your permit) You will be allowed to miss up to 4 classes of driving and/or lecture. All classes must be made up to complete your certification. There will be a $15 fee for the first missed driving time and then a $25 fee for each missed driving time after that up to 4 classes. If you have missed more than 4 sessions you may be dropped from the program.
If you class falls on a day for taking a PSAT, SAT or ACT you will not have to pay for one of those missed days. The day must still be made up. The cost of the course will be $595 for all Week day classes, $600 for Saturday and $625 for Sunday classes. Full tuition payment is required at the time of registration.
Tution is non-refundable, but will be held in credit for up to one year if you need to reschedule your original enrollment. An administrative registration fee may apply.
